/ Dance, Rhythms and Blue
— This event is in the past —
Join us for our annual spring concert at Adelaide’s on Bath Street, Glasgow. We offer a programme with a perfect fusion of lyricism and dance. From the timeless elegance of classical compositions to modern upbeat tracks, we have it all!
Our programme features clarinettist Emily Barron, 2023 winner of the Scottish Young Musicians Solo Performer of the Year. Her winning performance of Solo de Concours by André Messager earned her the title from a competitive field. Emily also plays saxophone, piano and bass clarinet, and is a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland and RCS Junior Symphony Orchestra. Look forward to Emily’s enchanting performance of Weber’s Concertino in E flat, accompanied by our wind ensemble.
But that's not all! Brace yourself for a symphonic explosion as we unleash the pyrotechnics of Bernstein’s Candide Overture, modern classics from Guy Wolfenden of Illyrian Dances and Danceries, and the evocative jazz-inspired Blue Shades by Frank Ticheli.
